xx Chopin etude in f minor opus 10 nr. 9
August 14, 2005, 02:54:27 PM by lava

A live recording of Chopin's study in f minor opus 10 nr. 9.

It takes a lot of stretching for the left hand but I've got quite big hands so that's not really a problem.

The recording itself contains a bit distortion, but is still enjoyable.

Another Chopin étude (nouvelle etude in f minor) which I played at the same performance can be found here: http://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,11721.0.html.

xx Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 9

Hello all,

If any of you remember me my last recording of a piece sounded pretty wretched (out-of-tune piano, and lots of comments that the pedal sounded broken, aha).  Well this recording was done on a piano at the University I'm attending, so it sounds a good bit clearer and in-tune.

I am very new to this piece and am looking for critiques on where to improve (I was disappointed how my left hand is quite uneven in parts, so that's one I picked out right away).

Thanks!

Brett

xx Etude Op.10 No.9 -- Chopin
December 02, 2007, 01:53:14 AM by escort

Aright, I posted this earlier this year a couple weeks after I started it.  Anyway, here is an updated recording, as it's one of the pieces I have to play for my juries here this coming week.  I guess it still has a lot of room for improvement...  but it is a good bit better than where it was at the time of the last recording.
Comments/criticisms are very welcome.

Soo, I started playing this like a week ago, (and haven't played it for my teacher yet) so there are probably quite many details I haven't noticed. Couple of wrong notes, but good enough for audition room, I think.

All comments are welcome Smiley

So, I haven't had a lesson in some weeks, because I've been moving. (starting first year of bachelor in Aarhus).

I've already met the teacher, and I know I made a good impression. But I don't want to come to the first lesson with pieces, played like sh*t.

So here are a few pieces I've been playing for like 1½ week.

xx Chopin etude op 10/9 WORK IN PROGRESS
May 31, 2011, 01:16:22 PM by pianisten1989

My teacher and I have decided that I should try to play all Chopin op 10. I have played quite many of them already, but now going for all of them.

I played this through this piece in september (I think) last year, though I never really learned it. This is a recording from yesterday, and I started playing it the day before that.

It has got quite a few mistakes, and the dynamics isn't really working on my recorder. But maybe anyone could comment anyway?
I don't understand this piece very well, so I don't know how to continue (more than, ofc, getting rid of the mistakes), so any advice would be lovely!

Hi friends.
I brought this piece back a couple of hours ago for a quick audition tape for a camp at the University of Oregon this summer.
Let me know what you all think!
Cheers!

"I was in Poland the past summer to give 2 concerts. At the last minute they requested some Chopin, which I had not brought with me. So, I google-searched for classical downloads and found your site. I was able to print out excellent editions of the pieces I needed within minutes. To find the scores locally would have been inpossible as it was a smaller town, the nearest music store 45 minutes away."

"Piano Street has been a wonderful tool to me as both a pianist and a piano teacher. I can browse the collection for pieces I want to play and/or have my students play. The difficulty rating system that Piano Street uses enables me to search by difficulty level for pieces at my students' various playing levels. It is helpful that many of the scores include an audio clip of the piece being played. I have recommended to my advanced students that they also join Piano Street since getting sheet music from there is a much less expensive alternative to ordering and paying for the music.
