He is not at all banned, just temporarily prevented from posting until he has confirmed that he accepts the forum rules.
Posting like 100 BS messages per day just in order to boost the post count is considered as spamming and is not allowed in this forum.

Children shouldn't be "governed", they aren't subjects of your little principality, they're human beings, and if you have to do anything to them, you should try to guide them, whilst allowing them to find their own way of doing things. If a kid wants to try pot, let them, let them see if they like it, and if they do, so what? It'd be different with something harder, say heroin, but pot is harmless in the long run. Loosen up.

do you even have kids? pot can easily lead to heroin. maybe govern was a harsh word for you, but you have to guide and direct your kids. You have to show them right from wrong. You have to tell them that certain things are inappropriate and not exceptable.

18   Non Piano Board / Anything but piano / Re: tax liens  on: Today at 05:18:55 PM
I think it is somewhat biased. Also modular homes used to be built really cheaply and therefore fell apart. Now adays they build them better, but they are still stereotyped as hunks of junk.

Tash because she is so nice and friendly

Bernhard because he is so smart

Viking because he knows where I live

and of course: Bob because he IS the ball

yeah I definately don't want a P.O.S. I was thinking that subdivision homes are a "safer" bet. subdivsions require houses to maintain certain upkeep. just thinking here.

a loan with a low interest is a good deal, but not as good as getting a 140,000 dollar house for 30-40 grand.

I know this may sound at first like an outlandish concept, but one way to have lots of posts and not get banned, is to make sure they (or at least some of them) have some usefulness. ::)

But then, what do I know? 8)

Best wishes,

Bernhard is genius. I find him the greatest member of the whole forum, he is a big book of piano knowledge, and he has a great sense of humor ;D

I know this may sound at first like an outlandish concept, but one way to have lots of posts and not get banned, is to make sure they (or at least some of them) have some usefulness. ::)

But then, what do I know? 8)

Best wishes,
Bernhard.

And do you remember how you mocked me after I tried to get more specific rules?

And do you remember how you mocked me after I tried to get more specific rules?

Yes.

I remember well.

So, let me spell it out for you.

You see, you call yourself a libertarian. But I will tell you what is a true libertarian. 8)

A true libertarian – like all other people in the planet – resents and fights against any power other people try to impose on them.  >:(

But a true libertarian goes one step further – and unlike most people in the planet – refuses to exert power over anyone else. :D

If you have ideas and ideals, the libertarian way is not to create and enforce rules that forces everyone else to comply with your ideas and ideals, but to live your ideas an ideals to the best of your capacity without concerning yourself with the behaviour of others. :D

Most rule-makers (and include here all the sanctimonious religious preachers) make rules and try to impose them because they cannot live up to their standards themselves. >:(

Just look at you. You could not keep up with your own rules. Why do expect people who may not even agree with your rules to live by them? This is not libertarianism, this is dictatorship.

Living by your own rules will teach you a lot about yourself and about the rules you are trying to impose on others. Concentrate on this for a while and with the knowledge you gathered about yourself and your own rules, you will be in a far better position to judge if your rules are worthy following, and if you are the right person to lead the world into imposing them (again not a libertarian approach, but then, if you truly and sincerely try to live your life by your rules, chances are that you will discover the folly of your ways and never get to the point where you try to impose them).

Consider the consequences of George Bush sincerely trying to live by the “democratic” rules he tries to impose to countries whose riches he covets. To start with he would be out of office since he was never “democratically” elected.

Aleister Crowley once claimed he was bringing the new law to the last millennium:

“Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law”.

Well, here is Bernhard’s law for this millennium:

“ Allow no one to exercise power over you. Exercise no power over anyone”

Best wishes,
Bernhard (a true libertarian).

PS: Compare our two posts. Yours (quoted above) – was just another number on your post count adding nothing to anyone. Mine (I hope) was entertaining, brought new and exciting ideas, will hopefully generate interesting debate and as an added bonus got me another number on my post counter.

You don’t need rules from outside. Just have these rules from within(if you agree with them, of course- far from me to impose anything on anyone – not only I do not have this power, as I would refuse it if offered to me – as any true libertarian should):

1.   Post in order to help questioners if you can.

2.   Post in order to ask questions if you need.

3.   Post in order to put things right if you think they are wrong (and be prepared to be put right if you are wrong).

4.   Post in order to cause a smile on whoever reads you.

If you concentrate on these, you will not need to worry about post counts – it will take care of itself (I should know 8)).

Best wishes (again)
Bernhard.

PS2 – And have you noticed? I could have split this post into two (as sometimes I do) and got my post count increased by 2. So why didn’t I ? Because (according to my secret rules I live my life by) the reasons for splitting a post in two have nothing to do with post count. ;)

See, I created those rules very shortly after having read  "Atlas Shrugged" and "the fountainhead"  I was still trying to figure out what I really believed, those books were a real shock to the system.  As one can see, I have not completely followed my rules since I came back, I realized that being like this is a hell of a lot more fun, and that it really doesn't affect me what other people post.

Basically, these are my new rules:
1. do whatever makes you happy
2. Ignore what other people do, even if it is against your ideals, but perhaps try to persuade them to see things more your way
1a. post whatever I want

Mike, newbie
