String teachers/students forum
on: July 17, 2005, 06:04:37 AM
Hi all,

Gosh I forgot all about the piano forum and then found it moved!!  I started a discussion forum myself for string players and teachers on runboard.  It's new... and I am the only member right now.   ;D  I'm a string/piano teacher, symphonist, and quartet member, just so you know I'm legit.   If you teach strings or have any string friends who are looking for a similar place/forum to discuss ideas regarding all thing string, pass on my link if you like.  Inversely, if there is already a well-populated string teachers forum out there please post it!  I've been looking and just can't find one.  ASTA used to have a listserve but that seems to have disappeared much to my chagrin.  As much as I love my local community and the string teachers living here, I really crave the company of a more diversified online community of string teachers and players at a discussion board, whether my own or elsewhere.  Thanks!

Other string forums I've heard of

maestronet.com

mtna.org -- for all music, but generally focuses on piano.  Strings would be included.

menc orchestra forum -- more on the public string teaching side, not too much activity usually
https://menc.org/networks/orchestra/openforum/wwwboard.htm

I'm interested in hearing about other forums, string or any other kind of music.
