Useless bastards. The last lot caused genuine death and destruction and totally failed to induce terror and panic in the London population, this time they all fizzle and the only person hurt is one of the bombers, and we're expected to quake in our boots? Mucking forons.

OK, who reckons it's:

a) The same lot again.
b) Copy-cat bombings by some unrelated group.
c) The government in a conspiracy to keep us afraid so it can introduce more 1984-style "security" measures.
d) Typhoo and PG Tips in a conspiracy to keep us applying the traditional British remedy to any crisis i.e. drinking lots of tea.
e) The French, in revenge for all the bad-taste Olympics jokes Londoners were cracking after the last time.
f) The Australians, in revenge for the cricket.

Maybe I should post a poll.

(btw I am in London, so I have the right to a little gallows humour under the circumstances).

I'd be inclined to go with d, since, let's face it, it's the only possibility that will achieve its desired results. :)

Gah. I find this whole thing so indescribably disgusting, I don't know how to put it into words. It's a repulsive, ridiculous, pointless, evil and totally f***ing insane thing to do. All they're managing to do is piss people off by messing around with the transport system in a very, very busy city. They're delusional and incurably cruel. F***ers.

this is the reason why I agree with blair and bush that these extremist ideologies must be removed.

Let me see....

How many to die by whatever means, so it finally becomes an issue....What is the magic number?

WHY...., is it less bad this time in England; because FEWER actually died, or were maimed? Where is the cut-off point in destruction and death, and who gets to decide...Must we then, believe that the more that die the worse it is...When does ONE death count...

How many civilians, (Men....Women....Children...)...!...have been killed in Iraq, by American war efforts only?...(It is given by various sources as 20,000 to well over 100.000 persons...)

How many Israeli and palestinian citizens now lie in the grave? And who decided what was right?  Was it Arafat...Sharon...? And remember the Balkans....

What decision will we take with the present administration, in regards to Cuba/N. Korea/China and Taiwan/Iran/even perhaps Russia.....?

One death always counts. Unfortunately, murder has become such a common, everyday occurence that it takes mass-murder for it to really get noticed. Such is the way of the world we now live in. *Sigh* I think I'll move to Saturn ... Anyone with me?

I didn't realize anyone died this time. I still feel that it is serious, but at least it wasn't as catastrophic as the previous one.

I was just saying that in reply to c18cont's post. I don't think anyone died, and there was only one injury last time I checked the news. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

So must the people that speak it, but until Blair tears up the Human Rights Act and actually starts deporting people, we will make little headway.

well, apparently Lond on is now really edgy. THey shot a man in the subway today because he was wearing a padded coat when it was 70 degrees.

the dude apparently ran from cops, tripped and then the cops unloaded five shots into his back. crazy stuff.

What has Blair done except wring his hands and profess to keep a stiff upper lip; sounds less like Winston and more like Nevile.  Bush has bungled Iraq and failed to close the borders and demand that muslims in America provide information about terrorist cells in the US.

I know about bush more than blair. Bush did more than Clinton. Clinton fired missiles into Afghanistan, but he fired into old abandoned terrorrist cells. Are there flaws in the current administrations efforts? Definately, but something is being done.

I will concede that Bush has been hamstrung to do much of anything in this current uber-pc environment.

What...?

Bush is NOT held to any basis, he IS his own, ALONG WITH his chief advisors...Make no MISTAKE..He is not hamstrung....He is suzerain...

Now, whether or not he is wise in his plan and execution, might be a better question...

If Bush actually closed the borders and/or did racial profiling (look at the outcry over the Patriot Act, for example), the ACLU and their breathern would be screaming bloody murder.

Indeed,  But we are used to hearing from ACLU...

I believe it is important to hold to the principles of our own making, and very important to continue to seek out those who are terrorists in the making...

However, the Bush administration, for all their strength is "hard-Headed" and needs to be more open with the Americans who are their responsibility, in such areas as completing Iraq, and even more, Afghanistan...not to mention the things like Valerie Plame..etc...etc...

I hate the ACLU. They pick some really stupid things to fight for. They spend millions of dollars on absolutely stupid things, instead of doing things like helping the poor or something.

What we see from ACLU often doesn't fit well with our expectations,

However, the real aims of the organization don't seem to be easy to discern for anyone, so it remains hard at times to support them....or to understand their intent...It is said by some that they have done good for the general population at times...but I seldom feel good about their causes....
