Chopin's Nocturnes
on: July 27, 2005, 07:23:15 PM
Hey, it's me again...

Does anybody know of a list of the Chopin Nocturnes in order of difficulty? I've seen other rankings on this site, including one about Beethoven's piano sonatas, and I want to know if there's a list already out there. If not, then does somebody know?

Thanks,

Phil

There is a grading of these pieces that Bernhard posted: https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,3197.msg28098.html#msg28098

This is the difficulty order in my view of it (people may disagree) Easiest to Hardest:
1-Op. 15 No. 3
2-Op. 37 No. 1
3- Op. 9. No. 2
4- Posthumous (C Minor)
5- Op. 9, No. 1
6- Op. 32 No. 1
7- Op. 72 No. 1
8-Op. 27 No. 2
9-Op.32 No. 2
10- Op. Posthumous (C # minor)
11- Op. 48 No. 1
12- Op. 27 No. 1
13- Op. 55 No. 2
14- Op. 62 No. 1

To be Continued...
I have to go now, but I will be back...
Takes a little while to organize those...
