Are Cats Curious
on: August 03, 2005, 04:08:44 PM
Because we have this broom that is a vivid shade of neon-blue, and our cat is terrified of it. Now, I know that we could have an orange striped and polka-dotted broom for all that she cared, and she would still be terrified. But I was curious if its inherent, natural repulsiveness influenced her attitude at all.
Just curious.

They see two colors. We see three.

i think it's just the broom, period. cat's inherently know what weapons of terror may be used upon them, and shrink out of situations they've experienced that were bad. for instance, when i found my cat (as a kitten), someone had tried to drown her. she wouldn't drink water in a little saucer if anyone was around.
now, if noone is at your house, your cat probably goes up to the broom and rubs it.

do you know why benches fall apart? it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them. hint: buy a bench that does not hinge. buy it for sturdiness.

Lol, my cat's afraid of an inflatable hammer I have
. When it first got brought into the house, she started sniffing it, and when she was just about to touch it, something fell off a shelf, and she has not gone near it ever since.
