Hunting for Medtner scores
on: August 25, 2005, 03:41:31 PM
Hello all!

Just wondering where I may find pdfs of Medtner's music.  Though Dover publishes a volume of the sonatas, most of the music is published in Russia only, and is not available in the US.  I have come across sights that have them in the past, but have let them slip through my fingers on more than one occasion.  I'm looking in particular for the complete Forgotten Melodies, Op. 38.  If any of you has a copy or link to these scores, I would greatly appreciate it.  Also, please tell me if there is anything I could offer in return.

All my gratitude,
Bill

Dear Mr. Thalbergmad,

My most sincere thanks!  I've been waiting a good while for these scores, and I've already printed out your email and started to practice!  By the way, there was once upon a time a Japanese piano page run by a Mr. Natsui.  Any idea where this has been relocated to?

Thanks again,
Bill

You can still view Mr Natsui's collection, but i understand that he no longer allows any access, as the password was circulated in some piano forums which caused him some problems.

This was a shame as i always found him very helpfull and generous in sharing his scores.
