Congratulations on the new piano.

Why not stack the Yamaha P-200 on top of the Steinway B's music rack so you can switch form acoustic to digital whenever you want to get funky? ;) ;D

yes it is.. Good eyes.  I don't have a printer that works at this moment so I have to use my computer screen for now.  It actually works pretty well, and the screen saver comes on every few mintues forcing you to either memorize the work or take a break.

Well, if we need to dissect the pictures.... Next to the Paganini Caprices is a work by Amy Beach called Romance for violin.  Paganini keeps my fingers active (for violin) and makes every other piece easier (in comparison).  All of a sudden those high notes seem easy after hacking away at a few measure of Paganini.

With a piano like the Steinway...I'd imagine that the need to be "funky" would not commonly take over... :)

Lucky devil ! ! !

But considering what I played on most of my life, my 5'8" grand is sort of a dream come true.

Thanks for those great photos ! ! !

Yeah, rub it in, both of you  ;D

Congrats on either one, can't go wrong with those. And a nice home for them too.

For your screensaver interruptions--you can disable that. And with the page down key, I guess you can "turn the page" quicker than with paper. Good idea!

Oh, BTW, I think you can take off those red pedal socks now  ;)

I think I already lost one of those socks....  Thanks viewing the pictures and sharing in my pride.  I haven't paid for the piano yet!!!  It's being financed.  First bill is for next month...

Damn.

You're quite a good violinist (judging by the Caprices) and lucky enough to also own a Steinway.

Damn.

Beautiful pianos you both! I might take a picture of mine (it's no Steinway) but I love it more than anything! It's a Yamaha C3, I actually never touched a Steinway.

I would really like to see the Yamaha C3 pictures.   I know there are lots of people on this forum who have this piano.   I've always wondered exactly which one it was.

Good to see you Princess!  Practice violin lately?

@violinist - Yes I did but not with proper violin music - it's actually an easy piano version of "The Swan" Camille Saint-Saens.

I will do post a picture of the piano when I get a hold of any camera.  I left my digital back in London.

wooowww sooo beautiful..... see, that's concrete evidence that money makes you happy.

haha I was going to say "hharrrumphh...lousy showoffs" and then I remembered the Simpsons episode where the family needs a home temporarily and when they see a nice house, Homer says
------------------
"oooh let's live there!"

Lisa: "But there are people already living there, look- you can see them though the window"

Homer, grumbling: "Lousy SHOWOFFS!!"
-------------------

hahaha just a great simpsons moment for you

if that's Adobe Reader you're using... press Cltr (or mac) H. that's the auto scroll.

or there's an option somewhere in the menu usually.

that's what i do

the best Option is to get an Vertical monitor (there are some). That'll allow you to view a whole page on the screen at a time :D

Sherman Clay (the steinway dealer) is sending someone over this weekend to buff the piano up....

That reminds me of the days when I used to check out the new S&S B's here at the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70's.   After they delivered one they used to send a tech to put the piano together, then another to 'buff it up', then another to polish the keys (ivory, then), yet another to tune it and another to voice it and check it over - all 'part of the service'.

I always promised myself that if one day I were lucky enough to be able to order one for myslef, I would go through exactly the same process.   Sadly, no B for me, though I do have a new Yamaha GC1 which I love in spite of its' misgivings.

Just one piece of advice to you, though - whatever you do, DON'T SIT ON THAT VIOLIN!!  It might just leave a lasting impression on you, the violin, and the stool......

Nice ensemble - if you run out of arms to play that lot, give me a call.  :)

That violin rivals the cost of the piano.... ahhh... no sitting on the violin... but sitting on the piano? should be ok.
