Glinka-Balakirev - The lark

Does anyone have the score to "the lark" by glinka, transcribed for piano by Balakirev. I love that piece, and would love to have it.

but i just wanted to say this is one of the most beautiful pieces EVARRR.

but i just wanted to say this is one of the most beautiful pieces EVARRR.

I prefer the Liszt/Alabiev nightingale as far as "bird" pieces are concerned. I think you sent this one to me, it's gorgeous.

cziffra plays it amazingly, ive enver heard it before or since by any other pianist.

i do prefer the lark though, slightly.

anyone got the score or know of any other recordings of the nightingale?

I have.. the scaley part after the intro..part of it. I am learning to play it this way.

Starting with Aflat on the right hand: 5,4,3,2,1,3,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5

Starting with C on the left hand: 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,3,2,1,4,3,2,1~~

On that part, the left hand fingering is the same, and the right hand just does the transfer on 3 up and down, after the 4 transfer to get up there. I don't have fingering for the other run part, but that fingering for the beginning of it seems to flow smoothly for me.

i already looked for peters and henle but they dont have it

I found a good edition with fingering. Its by godowsky. the edition is out of copyright :). so ill post it here.

you gotta read the remarks of godowsky concerning the interpretation of this piece.
he suggests various nuances. O_o i would have neger come to that realization.
