My problem is I'm temporarily living in Germany.

I try to be a good citizen and not embarass my country of origin, so I make my farts as unobtrusive as possible and never call attention to them.

However my German hosts insist on yelling out "Gute fart!"  whenever I leave.

So please, help me out.  Answer this one question for me.

How the heck do they know?
Tim
