What does this notation mark mean?

I've never encountered this notation mark before and I have no clue what it means:  two notes of different pitches with three thick lines that appear hand-drawn between them, parallel to the bar connecting the notes.  The top line is below the bar connecting the notes and the bottom line is above the noteheads.
