What color/texture is your hair and do you like it?
on: October 20, 2005, 07:34:47 PM
If you could change your hair color would you? Do you hate your hair or wish you had more? Let's talk about hair.  8)

My hair is long, straight, pretty thick and brown and I am quite content with it. Sometimes I curl it and wish that I had curly hair. But everyone with curly says, "No you don't!"  :) I would never dye my hair.

No this is a great post, i spend probably 40% of the time discussing hair with my girlfriends (50% discussing food, 10% other stuff like men...)...

Anyways, i've always liked my hair even though it is really thick. In the last 2 years it has been brown, blonde-y highlights, jet black, reddish brown (when the black dye was washing out - that took aaaages - well it still is growing out after 2 years- don't ever die your hair black!), then in the last year or so i've been having lots of blonde highlights...

I hardly ever cut my hair (it's been over a year), so it's reeeeallly long and naturally wavy. My friends always say they wish their hair would grow...but then they go and have their "split ends" cut off every 6 weeks!!

sh*t, you can seriously talk that much about hair?!  :o

I didn't even know hair had texture 'till now.

Haircuts are strange events, I still don't know how people decide on a hair style. Everytime I ask for help they give me the same cut, something they call a 'ceasar cut', and as far as I can tell it's what every guy gets. Where do you get these names from? Where's the menu?

But it's nice being a guy. Last time I got my hair cut, the lady told me the popular hair style is 'messy'. Perfect. Bedhead will do. I have amazing bedhead!

I kept my hair long once, it looked kinda cool but was a pain in the ass. People were always coming up to me asking to buy some drugs, or if I could tell them where they could get some drugs. Drug dealers must never cut their hair... So strangers know they're dealers.

Yeah, I noticed that, when you're a kid they don't ask they just cut it.

Then I went through teenage years with long hair and never got it cut, perhaps that's when they let you in on the secret language.

When I went back, all these people were saying numbers to the bloke, something to do with the clippers, but how did they know? Does 3 take more hair off than 2 or less? What's the range?

Then some go on and on virtually for every cut "Shall I snip this hair, here or here?" "Do you want it tapered at the back or straight?" .... "Like I give a #$# mate, just cut it like you have for the past 5 years I've been coming here" "Heh, you English guys don't care about your hair do you?" "Well if you cut it badly, do you think I would have returned year after year?" :D Same conversation every time.

My hair is black, infuriatingly not straight, and ridiculously thick. It's thinned drastically and shoulder length so I don't have to deal with an enormous ponytail. The hair will neither bend nor straighten--no buns, twists, large-clip-do's, or sleekness for me.

I wish it were finer, thinner, more pliable and bluer. Not the manic panic/punk rawker blue; more of an extreme end of black.
