Piano Eye Candy
on: November 13, 2005, 08:45:09 PM
Went over to Altenburgs yesterday to introduce my teacher Rachel Jimenez to Fred and played a bunch of pianos.  Mainly was just listening to my teacher play, she is an incredible pianists.  Awesome.  Saw for the first time an AF 190 with very fancy veneers.  The furniture style is the same as the regular 190, but the veneers are awesome.  I took a bunch of pics and put them up here:

Nice!

As an aside, I found out who carries August Förster pianos in my area not long ago. Paid the store a visit, and thought that their Försters were  top notch. Played the 170, the 190, and the 215. The 190 was my favorite there by far. They had the 215 voiced a little too bright for my taste, and I didn't think a Förster is supposed to sound that bright anyway.

Also appreciate the picture of the back of the Förster upright on your website. Never seen anything else quite like it (all those short bars screwed to the bridges... looks like a lot of work)!

Haha, That was the "Ax" shot, I knew you'd appreciate that.  A couple more:
