How do you charge for group lesson?

Hi,
I know some teachers who teach individually private lessons incorporate group lessons once a month with all the students and charge the same for all lessons.

Does anyone else do this in the forum?

Since I"m having a recital this week, I scheduled a group lesson (it was a rehearsal and a combination of a lesson on dynamics and performance)
I charged everyone for the group lesson, but not charging for the recital. What are the thoughts on how I handled this?
I know one of my clients did not seem very happy, and I was surprised.  It took me a long time to prepare for all of this and it seemed fair to me.

Anyone out there?

I know some who charge for the group lesson, as you say...my son's teacher only has the masterclass twice a year (about a month before recitals) and he doesn't charge for it (or the recital). Mind you, the lessons are not the cheapest around either! He also gives them a free individual 1/2 hour ear-training/sight-reading lesson every three months or so.  I assume that's one reason his lessons are a little more expensive than some other's.

It sounds like this parent (?) was surprised. I think in future, you should make sure everyone knows your expectations...you could explain it in your studio policy.

Putting it into my studio policy is a great idea.
 I think when you call something a lesson rather than a party - one should expect to pay.  I know that I would. 
But some people need to have things in black and white.
Make mine green. :)
