Hey guys -- sheetmusicplus.com is having their annual CF Peters sale, and look what I found up on their sight ----- the sheet music for:

There's 2 main sheet music stores - that's AU$40.  For some reason, the edition is freeking expensive.

My dear lord it is copyrighted! I did some googling and found that a fellow by the name of Mike Batt was sued for including a track of 1 minutes silence on a CD. Look at https://www.mfiles.co.uk/composers/Mike-Batt.htm and

Batt said "My silence is original silence, not a quotation from his silence. Mine is a much better silent piece. I have been able to say in one minute what Cage could only say in four minutes and 33 seconds."

The case was settled outside of court and Batt donated a six figure sum to charity.

Which sounds dumb as many composers had little seconds of silence in their songs... so technically the composers should claim copyright....

ASLSP can't be performed that way. if they want, the first chord should be held for a year before playing the next chord, which requires another year to hold on  to that chord. or else there will be unwanted and really long rests in between chords/notes.

Yes, this just shows how stupid copyrighting is and like the article says, it is probably a stupid marketing stunt for both parties to get even more cash while doing nothing.

I don't know if John Cage is an idiot but he never did anything for music and he does have an idiotic quote about Schoenberg.
