Hit F11.  It makes the main part of the webpage take up more space.  I prefer it.  Hit it again to change it back.

Before playing a system intensive game:

Ctrl + Alt + Delete -> find the explorer.exe in the process tab -> right-click it -> end process tree.

Then go to File -> run and find your game using "browse"
It will run twice as fast  8)

Once you are done, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete again, go tor File -> run and type "explorer.exe"

I never turn of explorer.exe :O, but when I run a game I do turn off msn messenger, Kaspersky etc. Do you know more system processes you can turn off?

How about you don't be an ass you hypocrite. Your post contributes nothing. Explorer.exe only uses up around 15MB of memory, hardly enough to make your game run "twice as fast" unless maybe you are running a comp from the 1980s. Chump.

Current games use a lot of ram, and me, only having 512MB can use all the ram available.

And no, I can't buy more ram, because I have RDram instead of ddr and a 512MB memory thingy costs around 300€ :'( .

Yeah, that sucks man. I just bought another gig of DDR 3200 for $100. You should just save up for a full upgrade and build your own comp, it's a lot cheaper. Anyway... yes current games need at least a gig of RAM to run smoothly at higher quality settings, but a good videocard/processor is more important. 15MB of RAM is not going to give any noticable improvement... most likely not even a couple frames per second, but hey, if I were you I might do it. Also, turning off explorer is kind of a pain in the ass because I like to Alt-Tab from games a lot of the time. The "twice as fast" thing is just ridiculous.

A couple of frames might actually be twice as fast for me when playing TES4: Oblivion haha, and alt-tabbing fucks the game up because of crappy coding. But yeah, I might actually do a full upgrade when there's a game which really needs it (when I'm done with Oblivion I prolly head on with World of Warcraft again) and when I have money lol.

...back to helpful tips...

In Internet Explorer:

Control-W will close the active window and Control-N will open a new window.

This is probably news to no one, but I find these shortcuts helpful...  8)

And to seriously speed your system (click on the link above) It tells you what processes your computer runs silently and tells you how and what you can shut down.

I would realy take the time to look through this :)

Free up space on your computer with a Buffalo 250gig external hard drive.

They is only £80 and plugs into a USB port.
