Yes Schumann is very imaginative. As with Mozart, you need to evince timbres and textures and a style of music. From the pieces that I played by him and the ones I am playing right now, I can safely say that he is a very expressive and original composer, whose music cannot be bashed out and make an impression.

I love Schumann, too. I don't think he's immediately accessible like say, Chopin, but his music is really great. It's very original.

Schumann is my favorite composer, too..

At the moment i'm learning Kreisleriana op 16.

Wonderful and sometimes weird, removed from world.

Schumann at his best.....

Chopin is more consistently good, though. Schumann's later works are like.. UBER INSANE. lol.

However he has AWESOME chamber music- something Chopin didn't have!

Over all though, I like Schumann's early and middle works the best.

IM playing Op.36 in December, its great! When I went to buy the sheets the guy at the music store told me he hadent sold the music in 3 years, I was really quite shocked, its such a good piece(s) of music.

I'm playing now the Fantasiestücke,opus 12.His music is highly imaginative,and full of  musical richness in the details-harmonic,melodic and polyphonic.And is expressiveness is breathtaking!

i love schumann, his piano concerto in A minor op 54 rocks my galaxy.

Fantasierstucke no.2, Aufschwung is my most favorite work from him, the other would be The happy farmer 

Aufschwung is so pianistic, I feel to indulged and involed into the music when I first heard it.
