Chopin Scherzos
on: May 11, 2006, 04:03:18 PM
Hey guys, I don't have access to the scores, but do any of the Chopin scherzos have repeats in them?  This is important, because I'm trying to get a sense of how long they are, and I can't tell if the recordings have repeat bars or not.  And between Bb- and C#- which is harder in your opinion and why?

The first question I need answered withing a few hours and the second, only if you feel like it.

Thanks.

The only scherzo with a repeat is the 1st one, that has a repeat from the start into the next half page. Else there is nothing.

2 and 3 are pretty much a toss-up. 2 has killer arpeggiated passages and sweeping basslines for its major difficulties, and 3 has deadly octaves. Pick your poison.
