Another great one.

You bring out really cool inner voices in the middle section. The gradual build starting at 2:40 is brilliant.

This is hands down one of the best performances I've heard of this piece.

I guess you like Rachmaninov.

Dear jayanat,

WOW!!!  :o

LOVED it.  You really captured Rachmaninoff's power and Romanticism.  I enjoyed your nice way of bringing out the inner voices, also.

Record some more!

Wow I wish I could play that many right notes in front of an audience.  Really great job for a live recording.  I prefer the outer sections to go a bit faster and with less pedal.  I think it has a whole different character in the faster thempo with less pedal, just my opinion.  I agree about the middle section- you did a great job bringing out the inner voices.  I think the transion from the slow back to the fast started too slow.  The tempo changed a bit too much for my taste on the last page.  But I definately think you did a great job for this being live.  I love the last chord that isn't printed, I have only heard that in the Rachmaninov recording of it.

Well thought out, well shaped. Excellent phrasing. Crisp articulation and rhythm. Brilliant live performance!

Your audience started their applause the exact moment you played your last note. They must have been pianists or people familiar with this piece.

great control of sound and rhythm.  I love how you put everything towards the music and none to yourself.  in other words, very anti-Lang Lang and very, very good.

Actually, the last octave he played isn't in the music - it ends on the upbeat.  Maybe you decided to add it for some reason, jayanat?

I just wanted to add the last note, just for fun. Rachmaninoff plays the last note that I played on his recording too.

It's wonderful! I like you're use of pedal, good compromise between precision and tonal effect. I don't have anything to add apart from that, great live performance!

Do you play any other Rachy? Please post it, I'm dying to hear more of your interpretations, they are simply outstanding!!!

EDIT: Just remembered about your Rach 2nd, can't wait till the orchestral version comes out! Please post it as sooooon as you get it!

What's annoying is that a cough only comes on during a recital! I once coughed my guts out from swallowing some saliva that was floating in my mouth - I felt really bad for the pianist!

A person could probably hold a sneeze but not a cough.I dont think paying attention more closely has nothing to do with not coughing at all. Some ppl cant hold it in as for many elderly ppl that cant contain it.It is a matter of involuntary functions than voluntary.A cough can be both at times.

You can't see my hands from the video because I have troubles with the spotlights so I had to move the piano so the spotlights couldn't effect me. The audiences couldn't see my hand either.

Great vid. Even with the mediocre video quality I can tell that you look rather nonchalant when playing, as if the prelude requires little effort from you. Quite a contrast to Gilels playing it, with his hair flying all over the place (

that was really great! you're a wonderful risk-taker! and in this performance, it was worth all of it! there were some moments in the slow part where i even liked it better than horowitz's live recording. although i would have preferred more penetrating and ringing top notes for the right hand chords of that slow part... wat the heck, don't mind it. over all was great!

congratulations and keep it up!   :D

Very nice!  Perhaps the middle section could move forward a little more, but I like the way you died down to nothing at the end of that section.
