Just a quick question to anyone who knows for sure.

Are bernhards alternative scale fingerings meant to played with the thumb over technique?

The alternative fingerings can be seen here: https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,2619.msg22756.html#msg22756

If you're going to cite bernhard, at least spell the name correctly.  :) :)  :)

I know it's a typo, because you've shown you're bright and a decent speller. But it's a small enough courtesy to afford to someone who takes so much time being courteous and enlightening to us all.

Greetings.

Concerning polite reference to someone, I find it utterly annoying that others grow accustomed to guessing at my name. Not only to not secure a name, but to change it constantly by guessing it's pronunciation, sending out spurious information to others.

I use the alternates with TO.

My teacher is not thrilled.  I have not admitted I do it on purpose, I guess she just thinks I'm too old to get it right.

You really have these problems, Debussy Symbolism? You're not kidding?

Is there something so weird about the composer's life, that his name attaches some stigma to you? If that's not it, I can't imagine why they're ganging up on you.

Instead of being unhappy here, the solution is simple: change your User Name.

I agree. I don't understand what you mean or what the relevance is,  debussy symbolism.

This has been a huge misunderstanding, probably because I didn't make it clear. I get annoyed at people constantly pronouncing my actual name right, despite me having corrected them. I didn't mean my account name.

I see - what is your name, that people find so difficult to pronounce?

Perhaps you've hit upon the cause.

Piano Street Magazine:
Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
