not really, if you look closely there's a fairly obvious pattern, as cosine has pointed out!

Take a look at the shapes and you will see the same one repeating. If you work out the maths for each double digit number the pattern will be obvious...

eg/

10-1 = 9
11-2 = 9
12-3 = 9

etc

but all of my numbers were not nine. except one
1. 16  1+6=7-16=9 okay it got me there
2. 20 2+0=2-20=18 got me there too
3 88 8+8=16-88+72 there too

unless im being fooled, which is probably the case.

Ok, I must be dumb or something.  How does it know whether I pick 68 or 34?  THey're still different symbols.

Because you are doing it wrong. You need to add the two digits of your original number then subtract the result from your original number.

68-(6+8) =54 which is a multiple of 9
34-(3+4) =27 which is a multiple of 9

If you look at 54 and 27 they will be the same symbol. As will 9,18,36 etc

Oooooooooh.  The symbols on the multiples of 9 change each time.  (Yep, feels dumb.)

Yeah, and they change the symbols each time but the multiples of 9 are the same symbol.

I did it the first time and got 9.  No big surprise after glancing at this page.  The second time I got 63 (wasn't sure I was done since it's still a multiple of 9) but the site "knew" I picked 63 that time too. :o   lol

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
