I only need you opinion
on: June 24, 2006, 05:03:07 AM
In one week, i will be invited to a very important gala dinner. The organizer gave me only 10 minutes to play so i decided to perform two pieces, one fast and brilliant (Schubert Op 90-2 in Eb) and one slow and beautiful (Brahms OP 117-1 in Eb)

Your opinion?
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

I agree with the Schubert.  Change the Brahms for a salon Chopin piece ( nocturnes, waltzes, mazurkas.)

I would say to change one of the pieces to reflect either the baroque or classical era.
try some Beethoven
