on: July 02, 2006, 10:56:53 PM
i want to find the ultimate lip balm, i had one- molten brown, except you can only get it on british airways on business class, and i ain't doing that anytime soon! so now have Bonne Bell Moisture lip maintainence, but i think i can do better. something without a flavour, in a stick, that is going to last forever on my lips. hmmm, any suggestions?

well, there's 'philosophy kiss me.'  i used to use the kiss me skin lotion because they contained vitamin e and aloe vera.  i like those two products a lot - but didn't even know they had lip balm.  i guess that because i have sensitive skin - that i  liked it because there was no fragrance added.

then, there's 'eco lips.'  it boasts being petroleum free (saving 25565 gallons?) and they use organic hemp.  have no idea if it would be the 'ultimate' - but for some it might prove interesting smell.

if you want lips that don't crack - go to the local farming store and find 'bag balm.'  i'm serious!!  i used to live in alaska and it was DRY there.  everything cracks.  your lips/hands/elbows - and this stuff WORKS!  also, because hardly anyone knows that you can use it for personal human use - it's really cheap and u can make one can last a lifetime.

Shania Twain uses bag balm. I've heard good things about Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer. I always check the reviews at www.makeupalley.com before I try a new product.

Louis Armstrong used to have his own brand, but I don't think it is made anymore.

shania twain!  see, it's good!  u can get it in those little containers, too - that are lip size/purse size.

never heard of louis armstrong brand.  hmm.  you mean lift the trumpet every so often so that all the spit rolls in reverse?

chapstick is just ok.  it works if you don't have chapped lips already.  but, if you already have them - that b. balm works really well to take away the chapping.

Vaseline. It's great. It costs a quid and can be used as lip balm, eye make-up remover, hair serum, loads of stuff. I love it. I don't think it's that great if your lips are badly chapped, though. It's more a maintenance thing. :)

eye make-up remover

That is true.

I have often used it for that myself.

Forever Living Products are great stuff. In fact, get an aloe vera plant and any time you get a cut or bite or spot or anything else, break a bit off and ooooze it on ;)

Burt's Bees Wax lip balm.

Plain Vasoline.

Avoid any lip stuff with camphor in it.
