modifying mp3 tags?
on: July 03, 2006, 10:28:18 PM
If you read my story of frustrations here,

https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,19062.0.html

you know I would like to know how to modify the tags on mp3 files.

How do I change the "Artist", "Album", and "Genre" tags?

Should be able to do it with Audacity.  Don't forget to also get the LAME mp3 encoder.
https://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I don't know however if there is a program that will do batch operations for many files.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

it's ok, I just did it using a piece of freeware called "mp3Tag."  It works beautifully and is intuitive to use.

RIght now, I am just trying to find a way to convert wma to mp3.  I was using dBpowerAMP music converter, but I have yet to find a crack for it.

I just remane the file and change wma to mp3. It will give you a warning that it may not be able to play, but it works fine. You can always change it back.
