I am currently learning two of Chopin's Nocturnes, Op. 72 No. 1, and Op. Post in C#. I don't consider either of them to be difficult for me, except for the trills in 72/1, and the runs in Post. C#.
With 72/1, the only trills that really pose a problem are in measure 37. My version advises me to trill with the 3rd and 4th fingers, then when you do the chromatic run into measure 38, the fingering it shows is: 2 3 4 3 4 5 3 4 3 4 5. Personally I think that's a very strange fingering for the chromatic run. What do you guys think? How should I go about playing that measure?
In the other Nocturne, nothing is a problem, except for the runs on the last page. I have a problem with getting them up to the proper speed. What would you guys suggest I do to help be build up the appropriate speed for the runs?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
