new competitions...
on: September 05, 2006, 02:14:02 PM
Hi!
I was wondering,is there some intersting competition for me(I have 15 years)?

I am from Yugoslavia, and from here is really hard to find some good competition...

I won many prizes on,I think, important competitions(like "Gina Bachauer"),so I want to find more and more interesting competitions for my age...

So,if anybody know , or was on some interesting competition...please help! :)

p.s.sorry for my bad english! :-[

Hello Sara.  Your English is not too bad.

Do you mean that you are 15 years old, or you have played piano for 15 years?

I'm pretty sure you have to be between 19 and 32 years of age for that competition.  If you were in that, then you must be older than 15.

I guess I need to know for sure how old you are if I can recommend some competitions.  How old are you?  (I know it's impolite to ask a lady how old she is, please excuse me.)

The >>big<< "Gina Bachauer" is for that age.But every 4 years is Bachauer competition for another age.So I was on that competition in 2004,when was for children of my age...

So,you know now,I am not a lady(yet...)  ;D

You know i was just reading through the Chopin international piano competition rules, just out of intrest. Well in 2010 they will start again, you could work towards that, it may take 4 years to learn all those pieces, its a lot of music. Anyway it is something to work toward and by then you will be old enough to enter such competitions.

Well, by me in Rochester NY, there's the Eastman Young Artists International Piano Competition.  I don't think it's a major competition, but 1st place is a scholarship to ESM, and $3000.  There was this year a kid from Moscow who entered, just for the hell of it, I think.
