Recomended Mozart performers
on: November 22, 2006, 03:11:18 PM
In my opinion mozart is very special and not everyone can play it correctly. Even great virtuoso pianist have trouble playing it. I for one hate Horowitz and Argerich's mozart....
What pianists do you recomend for this particular composer?? I personally love Annie Fischer!

Horowitz was a genius with mozart. Try listen to his K333 from vienna.

Joao Pires is great (I especially love K. 310)  :D
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

Uchida and Perahia I like.

The Brendel concertos that I have heard I liked.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

There aren't many recordings available, but in my opinion Clara Haskil and Dinu Lipatti own Mozart. Brendel's piano concertos are ok. Michelangeli recorded the PC no. 20- awesome rec.

I'm also strangely fond of some of Gould's Mozart, although I hesitate to recommend it. :P

Greetings.

I personally like many recordings of Mozart, and everyone has a different interpetation so it is hard to recommend one, given that opinions may differ.

A bit off topic, Mozartian, I see that you are using Oscar Wilde's quoation about how people really only inherit other's traits. Have you read his "The picture of Dorian Gray"? If you are familiar with the novel, it talks about how people assimilate other's traits and how Oscar Wilde (Lord Henry Wotton perhaps) disliked the idea of such nurture. Just a thought.
