Seinfeld or Friends

I was discussing this with a friend and we had contradicting opinions so i decided to make a poll to prove her that I am right !!!

So, who's funnier ?? Jerry, George and Kramer with their hilarious 'show about nothing' or the bunch of 6 silly friends with their boring stories??

I guess my answer is obvious  ;)

It's a close call, 2 of the best shows ever, but the sheer randomness of seinfeld gives it the slight edge.

Still, I prefer Frasier over both of them.

Greetings.

"Seinfeld" for me. My choice depends on a number of mainstream reasons. The most significant being that "Seinfeld" chronicles are actually funny in a more complicated way, rather than the all too obvious and blatant humor of "Friends." I suppose it is taste, and in this particular circumstance I am not afraid to call "Friends" moronic next to "Seinfeld."

However, upon analyzing some characters from both shows, "Friends" does a better job in exploring each character's journey, with great portrayal of the effect of life on an individual. "Seinfeld" doesn't necessarily explore each character changing deeply, and despite the twists and turns of life, the main characters remain as they are, with George endlessly selfish, etc. This is just my take on it and I am sure it is only a tip of the iceberg, with more analysis available. Again, it is preference, but in my opinion, humor is really funny only if it is concealed first, and not shot straight to the face with a simple thing such as having characters endlessly go through small "funny" situations that only produce horrid background laughter, something that only annoys me more when I watch "Friends."

Well, this is my take on this.

I never really watched both of them.  But of the two Seinfeld caught more of my attention.  The first full episode I remember watching was the series finale.

How to choose a mango was funny, along with other random Seinfeld scenes maximizing the comedic nature of the mundane.

At any rate....

no soup for you!!!! :D

You're on a forum for PIANISTS.  Pianists are snobs, and will always go with Seinfeld.

I voted for Seinfeld  8)

But only because you don't have Curb Your Enthusiasm or Arrested Development on there.

How are pianists snobs, and furthermore, how is "Seinfeld" for snobs? :D

Friends is beating Seinfeld! :'(  I've lost my faith in humanity.

Anyone who likes(or dislikes for that matter) Friends should try Coupling.  It's a British show with the same 3 guy 3 girl set up, except it's actually funny(and a lot dirtier ;).)

Wow, when I voted I expected it would be something like 90% Seinfeld, 6% don't know either and 4% friends. ;D

I've never been able to sit through a whole episode of friends.  It's not that I don't care for it, but the humour actually irritates me!  I don't know why, I just find it amazingly lame.  There are a lot of lame sitcoms out there, I guess what makes Friends amazingly lame is that it was so popular.

But only because you don't have Curb Your Enthusiasm or Arrested Development on there.

Arrested Development is the funniest show I've ever seen!
