louis lortie. i thought he was trumpet player and really old. come to find out, here he is a pianist and not THAT old.
cmg, what is he playing?
second question. do you have a gas stove with a pilot light?
Yeh, Louis ain't so old! He's playing Liszt "Tannhauser Overture," Vallee d'Obermann (huzzah! huzzah! LOVE that piece), a couple of Thomas Ades things I don't know, Chopin B Major Nocturne (Op. 62, I think) and the Chopin B minor Sonata.
If we're lucky, he might do the Thalbergmad Tambourine Sonata, No. 4. Don't know who the tambourinist will be, though. P, can you get up from Philly quick? You know that sonata, don't you?
No. Not pilot light. One of those clicky ignition things, then, POOF!, fire. Isn't yours that kind?
Arensky? Come on down! I'll sneak you into the recital.
