it's probably easier to do a search then make a new thread, i mean there are at least 3 of these threads on here.

I hope Bernhard is gone for a long time. all he did was pretty much copy and paste links and copy and paste stuff, and copy and paste in general. and say best wishes, Bernhard. Although it was helpful, I pretty much think anyone can be the next Bernhard.

I beg to disagree with lau.  (Even if I still like him...)

I have bumped around this forum for about 2 years before I actually joined as a silver member.  I distinctly remember being impressesed by Bernhards insight, his willingness to study, and his humor.  He was a true gentleman, and to boot, he knew his stuff.  Also, just "copy and pasting links" was very helpful for those who don't have the time or willpower to search all over these forums for the answers they are looking for.

I can only hope that he returns soon!  :(

He shared a lot of knowledge, enough to get anyone started.

All that's left is to PRACTICE

Maybe he said all he had to say, didn't feel appreciated, or didn't want to answer the same questions again.  It seems like most people leave eventually.  Or they become lurkers.  Maybe Bernhard is lurking?

Or maybe he's travelling or busy with work.

I think he is not feeling well. I hope he is still with us, frankly.

He has some very good ideas about teaching, particularly for elementary and early intermediate level students. I don't agree with all of his ideas but many of them are valid if unorthodox and non-traditional. His posts are certainly thought provoking, unlike the writings of many established pedagouges and teachers. I admire him for thinking outside the box, although it's easy to do that under the veil of anonymity that he maintained.

He copied and pasted links to enormous archives of posts which he had already made.  So it is only fair to say, he posted a ton of information, then when inevitably people asked more of the same questions, he pointed out that the information was already there.  He may be gone but he left a huge repository of information.

I think laziness has its place.

And part of the fun of the forum is the interaction.  Even if a question has been asked, it's good to have new people ask and answer it.  The big plus being when someone brings in a new idea.

He logged off right after my post, which challenged some of his ideas. He never logged on ever since. Hopefully, my posts were not the cause and he had some other, much more important reasons.
Otherwise, it would've been such a bummer  :(. It is always a pleasure to have an intelligent opponent.
