It really depends.  I mean, in some cookies and as a frosting and such, white chocolate can be really good -- but I never really think of it as chocolate, it's just it's own thing.  So, I have never been inclined to eat it plain.

As far as the the cocoa chocolates go, it's all really good to me -- I used to prefer milk chocolate, but these days I have preferred dark.  But, a really good milk chocolate is not something I would pass up altogether.   hee hee.

It's not chocolate but it pwns.

Dark chocolate = less % milk and more % cocoa, 'tis good but milk is preferred on most occasions.

My favourite chocolate based food is the cadburys creme egg, I feel I have learnt alot about cunnilingus this way.

Semi-sweet is not as "chocolaty" as dark chocolate, and not as sweet as milk chocolate.  It is rather the middle ground.  Oh, and most chips you'll find are semi-sweet.

Depends on circumstances... in its own right I prefer milk chocolate, but for cooking and baking I only use the darkest, strongest chocolate I can get my hands on... hmm, baking. And I was wondering what to do with my evening!

Only people that don't like chocolate prefer milk chocolate.

White chocolate is an oxymoron.

Milk chocolate is like wine with water. White chocolate doesn't contain any chocolate.

Prometheus is distinctly wrong.

I prefer bread with butter, bread alone tastes plain, but it mixes well with other things.

It's also like saying only people who don't like alcohol prefer low alcoholic drinks.

Actually, if bread if fresh and really good I prefer it without butter. But you shouldn't compare bread with chocolate. Doing so proves that you don't understand chocolate. Bread it a source of nutrition. Not a culinary source of pleasure like chocolate is.

People don't drink alcohol because they like the taste, they drink it because they want to get drunk; they like the paralysing effect it has on the brain.

And there is nothing wrong with not liking chocolate.

Only cow babies like cow milk.

Adult cows don't. And adult humans don't like human milk either.

Now adult humans drinking cow milk, that is even too insane to explore, let alone consider.

pennsylvania has all sorts of chocolate factories.  not to mention 'hershey park' of which has the BIGGEST hershey's kisses.  not sure how much it is to bring home a big one - but you can rest assured it would last a week with five people knawing on it.

hershey's kisses are nothing compared to french chocolate, though.  mmm.  whatever they do to it ?  mostly chocolate - i suppose- with little hints of flavors and crunchy stuff.  cherries.  nuts.  carmel.  orange flavors.

that reminds me - does anyone like those orange/chcolate creations you can get at 'trader joes.'  those are good.  orange/chocolate logs or something like that.  overdose on those and you don't feel any worse than when you started.

On the whole, the general public thinks of milk chocolate when they first hear the word "chocolate."  All we need to do is start handing out dark chocolate as a taste test when you sign into the forums, and then people will start to see the light...  er, dark that is...

I'm going to have to find out which makes a better s'more.  I'll be back in a few weeks when I've solved this mystery. ;D

Most people are unaware of the correct method for making s'mores, relying on some toasted marshmallow Hershey bar combination.

Wrong!

Here's how to do it right.  Small handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips, maybe a tablespoon or so.  Roughly same amount of mini-marshmallows.  Microwave 15 to 30 seconds, until the marshmallows just start to puff up.  Stir with a knife but not too much - you don't want goo, you want the chocolate and marshmallows to retain their identity but mingle.  Quick spread on a graham cracker.

As dark as it can POSSIBLY get (I'm talking 85-88% cocoa here). Ridiculously addictive.

Sometime milk, sometimes dark.  Extremely dark sounds even better.  You can mix chocolate with coffee and get it a little more bitter.  mmmmmm

White chocolate.... bah!  We could eat candles too I suppose.

Philippa, Mozartian, Jas and Prometheus are all on the right track here. The darker the better (and organic, too, if possible - which it usually is these days). That said, I eat chocolate maybe two or three times a year only; propoer chocolate is supposed to possess aphrodisiac properties, so quite what - if indeed anything at all - my low chocolate consumption may signify about that may be open to debate...

It is quite plainly incorrect, however, to claim that everyone who consumes beverages containing alcohol does so for the purpose of getting drunk; tell that to any seasoned wine drinker or malt whisky imbiber...

Milk chocolate gets the most sales anyway, doesn't it?

If the dark chocolate vote wasn't split, then it would be ahead.  (shakes fist at dark chocolate for splitting the party up like that)  Dark chocolate has given the win over to milk chocolate.  Would have been 50%.  Easy win.  Now look what they gone and done.

The only chocolate, indeed the only confection of any type, I have ever liked was coconut rough milk chocolate , of which I ate, I suppose, about a large bar a fortnight. But since I started training and becoming generally health conscious some years ago I stopped eating it because of its high saturated fat content. For a while I missed it very much but now I do not like it or any other sort of chocolate. Habit is a funny thing.

Without wishing to thwart your apparent desires in this matter, I should warn you that I am not in the habit of making videos, DVDs, etc. of my doing anything, still less eating chocolate so, if you still wish to witness this act and its aftermath (if any) for yourself, you'll simply have to come over to England or wait until I get to PA.

What you don't tell us (mercifully, perhaps) is WHY you want to do this...
