Choptudes

Hello everyone,

One of my goals over the summer is to learn a few Chopin études. The only ones I've played are Op. 10 no. 1 and Op. 10 no. 3 (this one a LONG time ago). What would you suggest between the following:

Op. 10 No. 12
Op. 25 No. 1
Op. 25 No. 9
Op. 25 No. 10
Op. 25 No. 12

Trois Nouvelles Études: the one in Ab major

Unless you have an absolutely irrefutable reason for studying one that is NOT on the list, please stick to the options above. Danke!!!

Why not learn all of them? You have all summer don't you? =]
I'd learn op.25 no. 1/12 first just because.
That's the price you pay for being moderate in everything.  See, if I were you, my name would be Ilovepie.  But that's just me.

Ya...good idea...I'll do them all. :P

I would like to learn some other pieces too though...

I'd rather learn 25/6 and 25/11 instead, your technique will have advanced far more by the end of the summer.

Of those probably 25/1 is my favorite.

10/12 and 25/1 are considered two of the easier ones.
25/9 is undoubtedly the shortest one.
25/10 and 25/12 are considered two of the hardest ones.
The A-flat Nouvelle Etude is the easiest piece Chopin ever called 'etude.'

Maybe that'll help you decide? Personally, I would go for either the two A-flat etudes or the two C minor etudes.
