Essays and aphorisms, anybody?
on: October 17, 2007, 08:46:54 PM
Quite an inspiring assortment of pianistic mini-wisdoms. Whooo-ee! Here we are!

And several essays.
I'm worth a read! about Beethoven's op. 111 sonata, particularly the second movement, rather detailed and thorough;
I'm hanged, you water goblin! as a brief but conscise introduction to Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit.

There are other fun things, too, like an interview with Glenn Gould about Mozart; for those fond of the classicist enfant prodigieus*, I'd recommend something to keep blood pressure from soaring.

You need to correct your links. But I got it. I have a Margulis recording of op. 111 containing an interview with him which is very interesting. I adressed this earlier on this forum but nobody was interested. There is this advice "L' istesso tempo" that can be understood in two different ways.

Very interesting subject :)

I like that, I like that a lot.

Most definately

Dammit I do, that's why I sometimes get depressed when I can't play as well as I think I should be able to.

These quote things are excellent.
