Your favourite symphonies

What are your favourite symphonies ?
Mine would be:

Brahms 1
Shostakovich 5, 8, 11
Mahler 4
Beethoven 1, 3, 9
Schubert 6, 8
Sibelius 4

mozart the 1st one in g minor

mahler 2

beethoven 5 7 8

berlioz - fantastique

rach 1 - underrated

dvorak 9

and plenty more but im tired....

I 100% absolutely agree with you to the extreme fff max on your Rach 1 comment. It's drastically underrated, underplayed, and underappreciated.

ill add some more mahler - 3 + 6 are particularly moving.

i think numbers 2 and 6 are the most immediatly captivating, because of their attention grabbing openings.

1. Mahler 5th
2. Rachmaninoff 2nd
3. Tchaikovsky 5th and 6th
4. Bruckner's 7th
5. Dvorak 7th and 9th
