I agree with minstrel that Op. 32, No. 13 has much to commend it, although the piece is not as well known as some of the other preludes. The chromaticism of the last page in particular is absolutely stunning ultra-romantic music! That prelude seems to be eclipsed by its close neighbor, No. 12, which, unfortunately, has turned into a conservatory anvil. Although I play about half of the preludes in Ops. 23 and 32, I don't yet play 32/13, but definitely have it on my "to-do" list. When I can get it onto the practice schedule and work it up, I'll someday post it in the Audition Room here. At the moment though I'm concentrating on Bortkiewicz's works.
