why?

Scriabin's daughter Ariadna Scriabin converted to judaism and married the jewish poet david knot.
during the 2nd world war she and her husband raised the jewish french resistance.
she was murdered by the gestapo a during a resistance meeting a month before the liberation of france.
her descendants live in israel.
her grandson is elisha abas.

5 ... 3 with his first wife, and 2 with his second wife. Ariane is the first with the second wife.

*surprised*

I didn't know he had such a big family. And there was his son Julian.

I saw him, elisha abas, that is perform at Carnegie Hall in November 2007 and I must say he is an undiscovered gem ;D   He plays like the pianists of the golden age - i.e. Alfred Cortot, Hoffman, etc.. I am seeing him tomorrow night at Baruch Performing Arts Center at 8:00 - he has a monthly series through the end of May.  This man is in my opinion, the greatest pianist, I have heard in a long long time, probably since the days of Horowitz.  What is also unique about him is the performance was a sold out show and he had mostly young people in the audience who gave him four standing ovations before intermission.

I highly recommend if anyone in this forum is in New York tomorrow to see him.
