lucked out.
Well, I would not be that fast on that.A. Korsantia is quite an incredible pianist, muuuch more interesting musician, with much more personality in his playing than Berezowsky. I believe, his drive is unsurpassed. His Pictures From Exhibition are among the best I ever heard. It very well might be that you actually lucked out.
If I didn't already have tickets for Yundi Li, who is also playing Pictures, I would go.
If you change your mind and give it a chance, you might find that A. Korsantia is a much more charismatic performer than Yundi Li.
No doubt, but I don't want to hear Pictures twice in just a few weeks--nor am I such a big Chopin fan.
Sure, no probs Best, M
To those of you who suggested I go anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you! Wow, he was incredible. At times I was reminded of the tremendous virtuosity of Lazar Berman, at others the probing introspection of Sokolov. I've never heard such volcanic eruptions as he produced in "The Great Gates of Kiev." In addition to "Pictures", he played Haydn Sonata in F Hob XVI/23 and a Chopin group: Nocturne Op.15 No.1, Ballade No.4, and Scherzo No.1. He played everything with an amazing array of colors and drama. Quite a fine recital, I must say!
I told you what to expect .Mind you, today during the concert he was completely sick.
Wow...I can't imagine what he'd be like when he's feeling well!I can't find any recordings or youtube videos...what a shame that he isn't an household name.
His first album will be issued this year in Europe.
Do you know what will be on it?
Yeah, he was scheduled to play Chopin-Godowsky IN VANCOUVER...but canceled. *crestfallen!*
