Almost true - I've seen the ones that are about the size of plums and they taste like sawdust. 
I particularly loved the "dream" of pneumatic tubes to all houses for delivery of mail and precooked meals and subsequent return of dirty dishes. The possibilities for misuse of this "technology" conjured up some hilarious scenarios in my mind. I can't even imagine the complex infrastructure necessary for this - methinks this particular "expert" was on something when expounding on this.
Yes, that one is sort of hilarious. Although think how wonderful grocery shopping would be--just open your tube chute and take out your groceries. I'd love that. No more hauling bags in the rain.
Another predictive article from 1908 said each person in 2008 would have pocket phones and you could call him "wherever he happened to be." Now back then, that was dreaming. But look now!
Another cool thing in a paragraph in this article I posted here was - cars will be artificially cooled like homes are now, and there will be no stops for radiator water when driving.
This article makes me feel great about living now--we do so many things now daily that back then would have seemed like magic.
