Links to free Music Notation software
on: March 29, 2008, 02:07:26 AM
I am currently trying to decide on a music-notation program and I have been exploring some options.  I decided to post the various links to free downloads here, should anybody else be interested in exploring these and/or just be interested in trying their hand at writing music :).  Enjoy !

Finale :

https://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/
*(Notepad :  Free demo version of basic software, instrument limitation up to 8 - will save files)

https://www.finalemusic.com/store/demos.aspx
(You can demo any version but it can't be saved)

Personal Composer :

https://www.pcomposer.com/downloads.html
(Demo version of the writing software, but also PC viewer downloads and others)

Sibelius :

https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/download/get.pl?com=sh&prod=sibdemo
(Will not save files but you can explore the full version)

*It seems that Notepad by Finale is the only one that will allow you to write and save files.
