My parents are getting a bengal cat (the house cat variety) next week.  The breeder told us that bengals really enjoy the sound of breaking glass and will try to knock over anything valuable in your house.  I'm afraid now.

If your piano says "mew" don't call the tuner.  Reach in and stroke the cute fur ball. (suddenly wishing I had a cat.)

I would be very surprised if they actually liked the sound of breaking glass.

Their hearing is so good that they hear much higher pitches than us, therefore breaking glass would be very noisy for them.

They are an agile cat, and will probably be jumping all over the house.

Sorry.

Ha I will remember that about the piano.

Bengals are unusual.  Who knows why they knock things over.  They also like water and will jump in the shower with you if you let them, and they can be walked on leashes, and they enjoy car rides.  Or at least this is true of our bengal.  He is an adult.

How seemingly unusual.  Enjoy your new pet! :)  I think there's a wonderful euphoria when that takes place.

LOL one of my students dad bought one of those. It soon took over their house  :o It walked on everything and was always present, wanting attention. If it did not receive attention it would attack you (playfully, I think) in the back of the head as you sat on the sofa. It also destroyed many houseplants, with vigor and glee. They're very beautiful, but a handful. Good luck  ;)

Yes!  That sounds awesome.  I'm so glad they want attention.  The whole point of pets is to have something that will pay attention to you and love you, I think.

Just don't sing to them - ever! - if you want another night's sleep ever again. I started singing to my kitten when she was just a baby, and five years later she still runs up and down the hallway every night singing until I return the favor. After about an hour she stops and snuggles in bed w/ me - but it's quite the process  :P.

That's really cute.

My cat sleeps on my bed, then about 5am he wakes up, jumps on top of my wardrobe, then meows at me to let him down. Then he goes and either walks across my face, jumps on my bedside table, or jumps on my dresser and knocks things over.

Then I have to get up again and let him out. 1/2 an hour later he meows to get back in.

lol - she's also an amazing critic. If I'm singing any note just a hair off pitch she starts attacking my ankles. And if I mess up my tempo on a piece or I stop and get frustrated she jumps up on the piano bench and starts licking my wrists/nibbling on them. . . . it's insane - lol.

We have 3 cats, and in the evening they queue up for the place on my wifes lap.  8)

As soon as one gets off, there is another waiting. lol  ;D

I also had 2 "Norsk Skogkatt", but they live with my parents now.  :'(

I would love a cat like that, it would be so awesome. my cat is sort of scared of the piano, so he runs away from it when I start playing...

...or maybe he's just being overly critical.

The 3 cats that live with us were all rescued as kittens.

They are great bundles of fun.  8)

My 2 don't even recognise me now.  :'(

I don't think the site does that.

You have to put it on a site like photobucket and do the [ img ]https:\\blah.blah.com[ / img ]        ... thing with the spaces around img.

Thank you Bob!  You're a genius.  Photobucket worked.    Here is a picture of the new cat.  The reason it's a professional picture is that we bought a retired show cat.

Do those cats taste better too when baking them on a BBQ?

I'm always startled when I'm practicing to turn around and see my cat sitting on top of an easy chair right behind me, just watching. I guess he likes it  ???

Our new cat pooped on my shoes yesterday.

On a positive note, I cannot believe how graceful and energetic he is, a serious contrast with our old cat.

Is the pooping part an example of grace or energy?
