Schumann's Carnaval

Hello i have purcharsed Schumann's Carnaval and would like to eventually learn all of it but some of it is definatly out of my skill range at the minute, so which would pieces within Carnaval would you all say are the easiest to approach first? Thanks alot

the easiest ones are the ones u know u can manage. depends on ur technical proficiency and stuff. music knowledge.

Virtually all of them are very difficult to play well. I think you may want to start with Scenery of Chilhood.

I would also say that these are to be played as a set, not isolated.

I would also say that these are to be played as a set, not isolated.

It is usually played as a set if one is a professional pianist. But in many amateur competitions, the pieces in Carnval were played separately.

I just downloaded Von Fremden Landern und menschen from this site i think this is a very good sufggestion so i will probs start with this

A few of the sections of Carnaval are easy to play.

Try Chiarina, or maybe Chopin.

Valse Noble is also fairly easy.

Hi roozbeh35! The Carnaval is considered as one of Schumann's most difficult piano pieces and is usually placed alongside the Kreisleriana and his Symphonic Etudes. To even consider picking this piece would require a highly fine tuned technique!

What really would be useful would be a set of your current repertoire so we can advice you from there onwards.  ;D
