Nowadays, 1.. c5. When I played seriously, 1.. e5. I think your poll means to have 1.. Nf6 and 1.. Nc6 as options. ;) The absence of 1.. g6 is curious.. I'm sure it's a more likely response, statistically speaking, than 1.. Nc6.

e5, c5 are most popular.

I really like the French defense as Black. i.e: 1:.. e6  2:d4 d5

Against computers you would want to play closed systems and against humans open.  Against silicon responding to e4 with c5 or e5 usually leads to open positions which favor the computers.

95% of the times I would play c5.

Am I the only one hear who can't think in algebraic?

I learned chess many decades ago when it was rare to see this notation, and I just can't do it.  P-K4 means something to me, that e4 business doesn't.
