Gershwin by Ear?
on: August 09, 2008, 04:08:28 AM
I'm working on learning Gershwin's Swanee by ear. I can get one or two notes, and the main melody is coming along well. Any advice for how to catch all the chords and embellishments he threw in? I'm using a recording on YouTube, something like Gershwin Plays Gershwin!: Swanee, which is a recording of his piano roll of Swanee. Another problem is getting the left hand, as it is usually difficult to hear through the right hand.

P.S. If this is the wrong board, sorry.
