Sometimes too much preventative measures can overwhelm those who have public anxiety. Constant and gradual exposure to your fear is the best solution. Face up to it, don't deny your fear but don't have uncontrolled fear, but rather controlled. Once it is controlled you no longer will feel any fear. But you must expose yourself to your fears.

Where can you get the opportunities to expose yourself? I mean I have been playing a lot now in public, but I don't get the opportunities in real concert hall or even give real professioanl performance. What I do just purely entertaining for the public.

I don't feel anxious or stage fright like before. However, if I perform in the group of professional musicians or in large concert hall. I am sure I will get very nervous. I just don't get very much this sort of experience. Because, I learn from private teacher, I don't belong to any Universities, conservatorium, any other piano competition groups. Even though, piano competition is mostly only held once a year. Don't get enough experience. I had entered small piano competition before, I didn't win, but the experience was valuable because the judgers will give constructive criticism, and the why and how the way I was playing not sufficient. I think during the performance or even in examination, I know basically what is going wrong, becuase I am nervous, trying to get used to the strange piano.  However, the feel and learning soon forget.   I am always wondering ordinary pianists how can they get enough opportunities to pracitice this sort event. For example, like Lang Lang played for Olympic for Millions of people.

Did anyone really HEAR  Lang lang playing?!  (At the olympics)  I think any 10-year-old could have done that.

I haven't heard Lang Lang playing at the Olympics yet. I just put up an exmaple. However, I have seen him performaning in the concert. I really don't think any 10 year old can perform. Please get real, if so, why don't Olympic organisation ask you and me?

I was only referring to what I heard at the olympics opening festa.  And I can assure you,  you or me COULD have done as well!  That's not to deny his talent or whatever he's done so far (although even Argerich can't understand the brouhaha he creates).  He was chosen because he's the hottest thing since since the invention of the wheel, it seems, and is a big commercial item.  Can you see Andras Schiff or even Kissin performing in such a background?  And that's ALL he was there.

The Chinese government is very calculating and formulating. The entire games opening ceremony was contrived to look perfect, can we go so far to say that the lip syncing little girl (who was used because she was more pretty than the bad teeth girl who actually did the recording) and Lang Lang who looked very much like he was hand syncing a recording, was just the Chinese trying to look good. Pretty poor attempt I thought though :)
