How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Chopin Op. 10 -> polish or onto op.25 or ...
on: September 23, 2008, 10:32:12 PM
Dear all,

I just finished Chopin op. 10
please confirm:
what should i do:
repolish them now or go on with op 25. first?

Additional info:

i did some of them when i was younger and i did study the other ones of Op. 10 this year and last year.
i'm playing for fun. However i don't have much time to play.
I'm grateful to the forum where somebody said: "play them in order" and so i did and i must say it made a lot of sense to me. If i recall correctly, the same person said that Op. 10 contains all (most) basic movements so Op. 25 is a sort of elaboration. That's why i'm doubting a little.
btw i'm familiar with Bernard and CC.  ;)
