sweat sweat sweat!
on: November 12, 2008, 05:32:10 PM
every time i have my piano lesson i easily get sweat especially on my palms and arm pit, and legs. I always wear dark colors when I have my piano lesson but i wore a pink and white top today and after my lesson I went to the bathroom and yeah, i did pit out! i could really feel my wet shirt. Now, i am embarrass to see my piano teacher because i am pretty sure he noticed my excessive sweating.

Look up hyperhydrosis.  There are people around with similar conditions.

You mean there is a "condition" where people sweat more than their usual self only while in a piano lesson ?  From what I understand, she is having a reaction strictly to her piano lessons, which makes me think it is not a "condition" as much as something about the circumstances.  I could be wrong of course :).

I have been known to blush more than ever while in my piano lessons.  What's that called ?  ;D

Well the piano lessons could be stimulating an existing condition.  Then again i'm not a doctor.

Are you trying to make me do more research  ;)

...

Ok I got this
erythrophobia - fear of blushing

Seems that when I search blushing I also get hyperhydrosis links.

hee hee ... well, I think it's natural for people to have some reaction to things that make them nervous or excited or whatever :P -- I think it's just a sign of being human.  I think everybody has some kind of reaction to performing, for example.  Some people could think of it as a condition I guess, and some people take drugs or whatnot for it.  However, interestingly, the more one is in the circumstances, the less the symptoms show themselves, in many cases.  So, is that still a "condition" then ?  I just think it's a little much to say that :P.

I mean, when I look up blushing (I am doing some interesting reading, actually ... it seems I can overcome it, which I have been doing in my life already).  You said that you were getting links for yadda yadda ... I don't feel like finishing my sentence.

Well, that is because both of them are considered to be "social phobias."  Which, is stupid, because everybody has a social phobia, I think.  The "phobias" just show themselves in different ways.  And, I have to say, I once saw a very unlikely person blush and it was one of the most endearing things I have seen.  I like to remember him that way, actually, because it reminds me that despite some of the things he has said and done, he has a very nice soul.  I am not going to take some stupid medication just because piano means as much to me as it does.  I don't blush because I am afraid of blushing, and I doubt that the original poster sweats just because she is afraid of sweating.  It is an emotional response to the circumstances.

I think the point being society needs to be more accepting of the diversity of the people, instead of pointing a finger to say "you are not normal".  There is more to a person than their outward appearance as you have mentioned in your scenario.

Well, heh, I am the one who said she is human and you are the one who said it's a "condition" ... so, yeah.  Or, perhaps you mean to be confusing.

Well, I am sure there is an appropriate medication for that condition as well.
