Piano Street Magazine:
Wagner’s Universe in a Pianist’s Hands

One of the most thrilling performances offered at Cremona Musica this year was the Wagner by Liszt recital given by Filippo Tenisci – Italian pianist, born 1998 and celebrated for his refined interpretations and expressive mastery of the Romantic repertoire. Pagodes Ending
on: December 04, 2008, 07:57:50 PM
Hi, I'm struggling with the ending of Debussy's Pagodes (from Estampes), the demi-semiquavers in the RH from bar 80 onwards.  Keep hitting wrong notes, and each cluster sounds disjointed. Wondering if anyone could provide any technical suggestions to help? Thanks!

It's difficult!  I have no quick fixes, but be sure your fingers are flat on all those black keys, and rotate your hands (In the mood of the Orient, think of your hands as those pretty fans used by the ladies ;D) as you play to keep the rippling passages from being disjointed-sounding.  Think of them as a continuous ripple rather than as a series of notes.

Good luck, hope that helps!
