Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No 1 Manuscript
on: December 15, 2008, 08:26:38 PM
Hello,
would anyone know if the manuscript of Tchaikovsky's Concerto No 1 was published sometime as a facsimile? Or if there are scans available? That would really make sense for the most popular concert in history.
Thanks!
Andreas

I don't have it, but I'm very interested in your request, why do you need it?

I'm studying it for a performance, and I am always interested in the manuscripts and original editions of the pieces I study. Unfortunately in most cases facsimiles are either not available or cost $$$. It's really a shame. Autograph scans should be published on the internet! I think every musician in the world would be grateful for that.

I agree most vehemently, absolutely, jumping up-side down, you are 100% right. Also early editions, all (well. I mean the standard XIX century and before repertoire) of which are in the public domain.
I think we should start by posting in IMSLP the manuscripts and early editions we have.
I don't have any.
Do you?
