And what do I - and what should you - care?
Well, it's supposed to be a community of some sort, is it not ? In that respect, I think it's fair for me to care. I think it's just a strange idea in general to have members be "rated" randomly and anonymously, it's just weird, sorry ! And, I think it's strange to build some kind of hierarchy that way.
No disrespect intended toward Nils but, as I said before, reputations should be founded solely upon the activities and contributions of those deemed to be seeking them, no more, no less - it's not some kind of competition, after all.
Best,
Alistair
Well, what's the point of numbers if somebody doesn't have the most ? And, what's the point of the system if gaining the most numbers, or caring how many anyway a person has, doesn't add up to anything ? I just think it's strange that this place has reduced itself that way. That's my honest opinion.
Does it seem distasteful as you have not got any??
Thal
Actually, it is far less annoying to me to have a negative there vs. some random number, and my first comment was made when I had almost as many as I had ever had. As I have stated before, I would actually prefer to not be involved in any way at all. What I DO find distasteful though is the insinuation of the numbers in general, and the fact that it is very obvious that it is "tampered" with, even when it comes to other respected members. I just don't understand why we --anybody-- have to have them at all ? To me it just detracts from the quality of the place.
There's more I could say but I won't.
