Rachmaninoff-Wild Do Not Grieve

Earl Wild's transcription of Rachmaninoff's Do Not Grieve.

For Koji: jacket - Lesser 13oz with H&S brass buttons, bespoke.  The sweater inside is a little thick, but wanted to test how the Lesser works on the piano.  I think 13oz is a little too heavy, better stick with lighter fabrics.

Have not heard this before.  You have a fluid sound, which suits the music well.  I enjoyed this.  :)
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Holland and Sherry make such nice buttons--I'm jealous.

Oh, and beautiful performance, of course.

Another wonderful piano transcription very beautifully performed.

Thanks Rachfan.  Just received the new song, Harvest of Sorrow.  Has anyone played this yet?

Koji: I was afraid you weren't even paying attention in the music...
I was also testing driving the bespoke Vass (the fit and the sole).  The importance of wearing the right shoes on the piano and the subsequent affect on one's pedalling cannot be under-estimated.

Less creasing with the U-last I would imagine?  8)
(and remember pedaling is the the "sole" of the piano, right?)

Hi naturlaut,

On "Harvest of Sorrow", I haven't heard the transcription played yet.  I believe this is also known as "Oh, my field", Op. 4, No. 5

Here at home I have Wild's sheet music to "In the Silent Night" and "Floods of Spring".  I've played Rachmaninoff's original song accompaniments of these, but have not had the time yet to learn the piano transcriptions.

I wish Wild had transcribed "Do not believe it, friend!" and "I beg you to stay with me", but he hasn't done those.  I might create my own paraphrases.  "I beg you to stay with me" is on this link, sung by the great Dmitri Hvorostovsky.  It's a trip!

I love the Floods of Spring!  You should play it!

I'm shifting my repertoire a little bit this year, but I will still keep these Wild transcriptions in my fingers.  I really enjoy playing them.
